Andrea Fitrianto is architect-activist working in the fields of community planning, urban development and rural technologies.
Since graduated from UNPAR-Bandung in 2000, Andrea has work as architect and planner both in private and non-governmental sectors in Indonesia and abroad. He work with communities in post-tsunami reconstruction in Aceh province, on housing-rights advocacy and slum upgrading in cities of Surabaya, Davao, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta. In 2007, Andrea took a break and volunteer for an orphanage in Makuyu, Kenya. In the following year, he accomplished master degree from IHS-Rotterdam and further involved with several NGOs working on housing issues in Asian contexts. Particularly, Andrea train community architects and builders in participatory planning and bamboo construction.
