ASF INTERNATIONAL – REFLECTING ON RECENT EVENTS
Naomi Shinkins - ASF-UK
The Newsletter No.8 of ASF-International focuses on the recent events of the organisation, which were the ASF International General Assembly ASF International’s recent participation in the World Urban Forum.
The collection of articles presented in the Newsletter seeks to summarise and promote the recent events, which have been a huge success thanks to the hard work of our member organisations.
The General Assembly has been summarised by our Chair, Peter Newton, and Leyla Ayoub of ARC Peace, has captured some keynotes from a selection of the presentations held on the Friday of the weekend event. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Architektur Ohne Grenzen (AoG)- Austria, who put so much hard work and effort into preparing and hosting the General Assembly. We are very grateful for all the hard work; effort and financial investment AoG have put in to run such a successful event.
We would also like to thank the member organisations that put so much effort into organising ASF International’s participation in the World Urban Forum. Many thanks to ASF-España and ASF-UK for all their hard work in organising and hosting such a successful event at the 7th Session of UN-Habitat’s World Urban Forum in Medellin, Colombia, April 2014. Also thank you to ASF-Colombia, AWF-Australia, ASF-Sweden and several members of ARC-Peace that were also involved in the event.
Finally the newsletter closes with some words from Dick Urban Vestbro, former Secretary of ASF International and one of the organisations founding members. Dick, you have been a pivotal board member since ASF International began, you will be sadly missed.
